Hi all!
Welcome everyone to the 2011/12 sailing
season!!!
Official Racing has started, but there are still crew swaps and positions available.Do not hesitate to approach either myself, Michelle Kelsey (0408
847475) or Paul Harris (0439 349 548) to help (if we can!).
I am still chasing a few contact details so please
forward this to anyone who may not have received it, or forward me contact
details of all who are involved. If you know of families whose child is keen to
sail but has not yet been allocated as a regular crew, please let them know to
contact us.
Please take note of the following
information:
Life Jackets: MUST BE WORN ON
THE WATER AT ALL TIMES! If you do not have one one for your child there are some
to borrow from the yacht club. Please put your name on the form provided when
you take one and sign when it has been returned.
Hats/Sunscreen/Water Bottles:
ESSENTIAL! We do provide sunscreen if needed at the sign on/off table. All
children should be wearing appropriate clothing such as rash vests, wetsuits,
gloves and boots. Make sure all long hair is tied up to prevent any risk of
getting caught up in the boat.
Club Membership: All skippers and
crew have to be club members and pay membership fees promptly. Please fill out a
membership form (at the signing on/off table) or find them online at the website Click here
Registration Day: This
Saturday, 22/10/2011 from 11:30am onwards, please come to the yacht club and
fill out your membership form. EFTPOS facitlities will be available in the boat
shed to pay your membership fees.
Signing on/off: MUST BE DONE
FOR DUTY OF CARE! All boats going on the water must sign on. If a boat is to
retire from a race, you MUST inform a pick up boat, then the finish boat and
then head to shore.
When on the beach, report straight to myself and/or
the bridge immediately to sign off. (on-shore will advise the course baots that
you have retired at this point).
The boat must be de-rigged , cleaned and packed
away before going off to play (under no circumstances do you leave the beach).
Please DO NOT go swimming without a parent/carer in attendance.
Please have a look a the website www.plyc.com.au for all information regarding the club,
membership, racing calendar and upcoming events.
