On behalf of the Port Lincoln Yacht Club,
welcome to the 2010 Lexus Adelaide to Port Lincoln Yacht
Race, and Lincoln Week Regatta. South Australia’s
premier ocean race will be held for the 60th time starting
on Friday the 19th of February 2010.
This year the event will be held in
conjunction with the Royal South Australian Yacht Squadron who will assist with co-ordination at the Adelaide end of the race.
This is a race of 156 nautical miles finishing in the
picturesque city of Port Lincoln. Port Lincoln, the home to
Australia’s largest fishing fleet and some of Australia’s
premier cruising grounds, is the jewel in South Australia’s
crown.
For those of you staying for the 35th Lincoln
Week Regatta, Port Lincoln offers flat water racing on the
beautiful Boston
Bay.
This years Regatta includes fleets for IRC, Premier Cruising,
Multihull’s, Trailables and J24’s. A major attraction for this years race and regatta will be the inclusion of a Veteran and Vintage Class where the club is in discussion with owners of some of the magnificant wooden boats that led the fleet in earlier years.
What sets Lincoln Week apart from the rest is a well-run
regatta with a huge serve of country hospitality. Come and
sample some of Australia’s finest seafood and wines, all
grown and caught locally. Crayfish, prawns, oysters and
mussels just to name a few. All washed down with beautiful
Eyre Peninsula wines. Worth the trip in itself!
Lexus Lincoln Week is a great regatta in arguably the best
sailing waters in Australia so I hope to see you in Port
Lincoln in February!
